Vaia is an attorney qualified in Athens specializing in SMEs, business licensing, insurance and tort law. Vaia has significant experience advising organizations both within the public and the private sector and has acted as advisor to public policy consultancies and international organizations. She recently advised the largest global public interest financial institution on general compliance and regulatory issues in Greece.
Vaia is a Law and Economics scholar at the Ius Commune Research School in the Netherlands and she has received several distinctions for her scholarly work including the Greek Law and Economics Association’s Dimitris Karantonis Award and the Robert D. Cooter Microsoft Award. She publishes widely in the law & economics field.
Vaia holds an LL.B. from the Athens Law School, an LL.M. in Law and Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and University of Hamburg and a Ph.D. in Law and Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
